Enter to WIN from the #NMCLaborDay Mileage Run!

Hello and thanks for reading us here on NoMasCoach!  As you may have figured out, we had one heck of a Labor Day weekend, as we flew over 12,000 miles all over the US and Central America, stayed at a couple of hotels, and earned a boatload of miles in the process. In case you missed it, here’s all the flights and hotel stays from the weekend. Flight 1 of 10, Alaska Airlines SEA-SFO, #NMCLaborDay Flight 2 of 10, AA 1143...

Zambezi River Cruise, Zambia

As we only had a few days left in our trip, and just three days, two nights in Zambia in particular, we didn’t want to just do nothing. So we decided to book a River Cruise tour of the Mighty Zambezi River instead, which would allow us to wine and dine while at the same time requiring no extenuating activity from out part. We booked it once again from Euma Tours, who arranged a hotel pickup not too long after we had arrived to...

Flight 10 of 10, SFO-SEA, Underwhelming Delta #NMCLaborDay

The time has finally arrived, our last flight in the #NMCLaborDay mileage run to end all mileage runs.  We’re beyond tired and sore but it was all worth it! We headed back once again to the Admiral’s club in San Fran for a quick coffee and muffin before heading over to Terminal 1 to catch our Delta flight. We almost headed out of security but I asked the TSA officer how to get to Delta’s gates and he turned me back...

SEA-SFO-LAX-JFK-MIA-PTY, PTY-MIA-ORD-JFK-SFO-SEA. PHEW!

So, what are you doing this Labor Day?  Barbecue?  Sports?  Hiking outside? Maybe some museums and family time?  We’re doing this crazy itinerary you see above.  If you’re feeling tongue tied, imagine us! It all started as a way for us to book a flight to maintain our Alaska Airlines status using some partner airlines (in this case, American Airlines) and doing it on the cheap.  Since American...

Review: Sheraton Libertador Buenos Aires

Since we were in Rio de Janeiro for the Olympic Games, and we’d gone through Santiago de Chile to get there, we figured we could do a stop over in Buenos Aires – since we were soooo close anyway – and enjoy that beautiful city. Also, it gave us the chance to try an amazing Aerolineas Argentinas premium product. We had previously stayed at the InterContinental, the Holiday Inn Express, the Hotel Two and the Sheraton...

Opening Ceremony, Rio 2016

The day has finally arrived!  After months of waiting and anticipation, we finally made our way to the Maracaná stadium for the Rio 2016 Olympic Opening Ceremony. Tickets for the event were not cheap, there were four levels of tickets (A/B/C/D) and C/D tickets were sold out.  A/B tickets (the best tickets in the best seats) were available at 4,000 and 3,000 Reals respectively.  We bought the 3,000 tickets,...

48 hours countdown to the Opening Ceremony…

We arrived in Rio on August 3rd around 4pm and got straight to our apartment.  The 48 hour countdown to the opening ceremony has begun! The last time we were in Rio in October of last year, we pretty much gorged ourselves on food.  Everything we could possibly eat or drink we tried, and it was all amazing.  We especially remember going to a restaurant called Aconchego Carioca, which has a couple of locations around Rio.  Specifically,...

Olympic Screw-ups to Remember

By now you have probably heard about most of the Olympic flops, but I bet you haven’t heard about these… So here we are, freshly returned from the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and we have finally finished downloading the thousands of pictures we took during our stay there. We’re back, safe and sound, just like we expected, but we wanted to take a minute to talk about all the other incidents. First one that comes to mind is...

REVIEW: Delta Sky Club, ATL Concourse F

After an uneventful flight from Seattle to Atlanta, we had about a 5 hour layover in Atlanta.  We thought it would be an excellent opportunity to head over to the F gates a bit early and enjoy the Delta Sky Club there.  It’s not the largest in the network, but to me it has some of the best features among all the sky clubs. This club features an awesome observation deck that looks out over the tarmac....
