SEA-SFO-LAX-JFK-MIA-PTY, PTY-MIA-ORD-JFK-SFO-SEA. PHEW!

So, what are you doing this Labor Day?  Barbecue?  Sports?  Hiking outside? Maybe some museums and family time?  We’re doing this crazy itinerary you see above.  If you’re feeling tongue tied, imagine us! It all started as a way for us to book a flight to maintain our Alaska Airlines status using some partner airlines (in this case, American Airlines) and doing it on the cheap.  Since American...

Have grill? Can’t travel!

One of my most favorite guilty pleasures has been following FakeSkyMiles and Fake Oscar UnitedCEO on twitter. But one of my most recent ones has definitely become even funnier than the fake accounts and the best thing is, this one is not a parody! Enter @AskTSA on Twitter. The account aims at helping people sort out the sometimes puzzling reality of going through security screenings, from the ‘can I bring my Glock into the...

Don’t question this airline – you’ll get BLOCKED!

Customer service seems to be a lost art in many businesses.  I can’t even tell you the amount of times that I’ve called a business and faced the dreaded “we’re experiencing a heavy call volume, your call will be answered in 90 minutes…” Has it ever happened to you that you’ve called that company and the person you got wasn’t the one who could help you, so you were transferred to someone...

Frankfurt Airport Evacuated, Operations Now Resuming

12 hours ago  (overnight for us here in the USA) the Frankfurt airport was evacuated.  It appears that all operations are back to normal, but some flights might still be experiencing delays. From the BBC, it would appear that a woman and possibly two small children passed through a security station without passing the checks, according to airport officials. Police evacuated the airport and moved people to the sidewalks outside of the...

FLASH SALE: London Park Plaza £169 + Breakfast/Upgrade

One of the reasons that we always subscribe to hotel’s emails is because they (sometimes) offer access to special sales that aren’t announced to the public.  We just got an email a couple of hours ago that announces a Flash Sale from the London Park Plaza Victoria hotel, and we wanted to bring it to you. The terms are pretty simple.  Just book anytime between September 23 and December 27 and you can score this rate for a...

Big News for Heathrow Travelers

For anyone who has ever tried transiting through London’s Heathrow Airport, you know that it can be a challenge.  It’s a hodgepodge of 5 terminals, and some airlines can operate out of various terminals.  Add to that the need to take a bus between terminals, then clear security, AGAIN, and it makes the journey more like a nightmare.  Because of that fact alone, we’ve always either included a super long...

TODAY: 8-11% off American and Southwest flights

Saving money on airline tickets is always tough.  Seems like here in the blogs we’re always posting about sales or deals to cities and far flung destinations, but sometimes those sales and deals don’t work out for you.  What would be better is if you had a flat discount on your trip, whenever you wanted it, right? Well, here comes eBay to the rescue.  Today, eBay has $100 gift cards for American Airlines and Southwest...

Buenos Aires: Opera, Cemeteries, and Tango

Buenos Aires, “the Paris of South America,” is the Capital of Buenos Aires and a huge freakin city. Upwards of 14,000,000 people live in the general area, and it shows.  When you fly into town, the city just seems to go on and on and on.  The city is divided up, much like New York, into many distinct areas that are diverse and totally different from each other. In the interest of saving time, we limited our day...

Review: Sheraton Libertador Buenos Aires

Since we were in Rio de Janeiro for the Olympic Games, and we’d gone through Santiago de Chile to get there, we figured we could do a stop over in Buenos Aires – since we were soooo close anyway – and enjoy that beautiful city. Also, it gave us the chance to try an amazing Aerolineas Argentinas premium product. We had previously stayed at the InterContinental, the Holiday Inn Express, the Hotel Two and the Sheraton...

Rio 2016: Men’s Water Polo and Men’s Gymnastics

After a super short rest (because the opening ceremony let out at midnight) we headed over to the Olympic Stadium area for some Water Polo and Gymnastics! I’m gonna just shut up and post the pics, and let you enjoy the games, just like we did. Considering I can barely touch my toes, I’m always impressed by what these gymnasts can do.  We were pretty lucky to have snagged tickets to these events, so I hope you’ve...
