Fireworks: Flights from the US to Asia for $278!

We pride ourselves on being No Mas Coach. Typically, we try to share the best premium cabin deals with you. However, sometimes, there’s such a good deal in coach that we can’t help but share.

Today, our friend Notiflyr brings the fireworks and shares some great fares to Asia from Los Angeles and New York. For less than $300, you can fly from the US to China.

The Deals

Alaska Airlines’ partner, Hainan, is offering some incredible fares in economy from the US to China. We were able to find round trip fares from Los Angeles to Shanghai for just $278! That may be mustard on your screen, but that’s not a typo.a screenshot of a web page

At the same time, Skyteam member, Xiamen Air, is offering full-service economy fares from Los Angeles to China for $325. Depending on where your loyalty lies, it could make sense to book with either.

As an added bonus, fares on both Hainan and Xiamen come with checked bags.

Meanwhile, there are some widespread deals from New York to various destinations across Asia. Some of the best deals from New York include:

The Dates

Deals from New York have the most availability from August to early December, with scattered availability in 2020.

Where to Credit

Unfortunately, the flights on Hainan book into the T fare class. This means they are not eligible for earning on Alaska Airlines. For less than $300, it’s hard to complain about the mileage earning.

Your best bet for these is crediting to Etihad Guest. With Etihad, these flights should earn 50% of your mileage flown, netting you close to 9,000 miles. Etihad has some great niche redemptions.

For flights on Xiamen or China Eastern, you’re best off crediting to Delta Skymiles or Airfrance/KLM Flying Blue.

Happy booking and Happy Independence Day!
