Conrad Maldives offers a Water Villa Discount using Points

The Maldives are one of the most exotic destinations in the world. Some of the world’s best luxury hotels and resorts are there, and it’s pretty difficult to get to. The Conrad Maldives, home to great diving and one of the world’s only underwater restaurants, Ithaa has been on points and miles junkie’s list for years. Now, thanks to a Hilton glitch sale, the most desired rooms are the same price as the normal rooms.

The Deal

When we first saw this a couple of months back, I thought it was a glitch instead of actually pricing. We booked a four night stay ourselves just to make sure it was a real deal, and sure enough! When I went on to the Hilton website today, a pop up came up and said “Ocean Villa for the Beach Villa price, book now!” Apparently, it’s not a glitch, it’s the real deal.

You can get either a Beach Villa (on land hotel villa) or an Ocean Villa (the overwater bungalow with the stilts in the water) for the same price, 95,000 Hilton points. Considering how easy Hilton points are to come by now (with all the HUGE credit card signups) this is an awesome deal.

How to Maximize value

Don’t forget that when you’re redeeming points with Hilton you can get the 5th night free when redeeming points. That means that 5 nights at this hotel will cost you 380,000 points. While that’s quite the chunk of points, anyone who has the Hilton Credit cards from American Express are probably sitting on at least 200,000 at a minimum (from the recent sign up bonuses).

Got your Credit Card?

If you don’t have the Hilton Cards, here’s two awesome deals:

Hilton Amex Ascend (read more). Currently they’re offering 150,000 points at sign up. Wow. You also earn

Hilton Credit Card (read more). This one, with the lower annual fee, is offering 75,000 points. Still a solid value!

Even if you got basic card and used the points for just one night, that’s over $1,000 in value from a signup bonus. A good deal in any circumstance.
