The World’s Largest Aloft Hotel, Abu Dhabi
In the Emirates, the mantra seems to be “bigger is better†and that rings true with the Aloft Hotel in Abu Dhabi. At over 400 rooms it is the world’s largest.
Most Aloft hotels that we’ve been to are 3, 4, or 5 story hotels with just a few rooms on each floor. This hotel has 12 levels including a rooftop bar!
We grabbed a taxi from the airport and made our way to the hotel. It was a quick 15 or so minutes and we came across the gigantic hotel. We actually had to second guess ourselves that we were at the right place, but I suppose when you’re in the Emirates, everything is just a little bit bigger, no?
Upon check in, we were immediately identified as Platinum guests and offered points or breakfast. Since we were flying out early, we opted for the points. We got our keys for room 822 and headed up the elevator.
The hallways were standard aloft hallways…
And the bedrooms were standard aloft hotel rooms…
And the bathrooms were standard aloft bathrooms…
Except for the bidet!
There was also a coffee and tea station, although we didn’t much have any use that.
On the other table was a note from the management with a fruit/cheese platter and bottle of sparkling water, our fave!
We headed to the rooftop bar for a drink and to enjoy the view. The music was pumping and the views were spectacular. We had two drink coupons courtesy of the hotel so we made sure to make good use of those!
Our flight to Kathmandu left at 10am, and we had a taxi ordered to pick us up at 815, so we wanted to get some sleep ASAP. We finished our drink and headed back downstairs.
The next morning we opted for a quick breakfast before heading out. A quick checkout and we were on our way!
How’d we book?
As a category 2 hotel, it’s a great value especially if you’re looking for a quick stop over in the Abu Dhabi airport area. We booked the room originally for 4,000 points, but right before we arrived, I took a look and checked to see what the cash rate was. At 240 AED (around $68) it made more sense to keep the points and pay cash, so we switched the reservation.
If you find yourself needing a clean, cheap, and reliable hotel in Abu Dhabi for an overnight, stay here and you won’t be disappointed!
