MASSIVE Skymiles Sale: 22,000 ROUND TRIP to Europe, Peak Summer Travel

In searching for a flight for a friend I stumbled across this RIDICULOUS redemption value. I don’t know if its a sale, or if its a mistake, or if someone just hasn’t figured out what they’re doing. Regardless, you have to jump on this ASAP. One way tickets are 11,000 Skymiles to Europe from the East Coast, 14,000 from the West Coast, making round trip flights between 22,000 and 28,000 miles! This is insane.

I can’t speak to all the routes where this is a possibility, but in just a couple of quick minutes I found JFK-LON for 22,000 Skymiles round trip in August, Seattle to London for 28,000 Skymiles and Portland too.

Availability works almost every day of the week with no blackouts

JFK to Barcelona is 39,000 Skymiles round trip! That’s less than a flight from Seattle to Moline, IL (nothing against Moline…)

Some cities didn’t work, however. Atlanta was 60,000 round trip. Try your city and see if it works. It looks like travel extends into September and beyond

Simply Put

August Travel to Europe, when tickets reach $1,000+, to be had for 20k Skymiles, is something you CANNOT miss. Run, don’t walk.

Miles are easily transferred via American Express. You can get a big sign up bonus with the Amex Gold and Amex Platinum cards

  2. 22000 miles plus $178 is not a great deal when you can just buy a ticket for $250 and earn 8,0000 miles

  3. I got JFK-AMS a couple of weeks ago for mid-August for 40,000 RT. It’s not 22,000, but for peak summer travel I didn’t think it was too bad, especially for not buying way in advance. $56 per ticket in fees

    • Nice grab! Amsterdam always lower fees than London too.

  4. Anything tolerable (business class)? I wouldn’t fly economy transoceanic even if it was free.

  5. Seattle – London in mid-August for 28,000 with a stop in SLC. But SLC – London on the same dates is 66,000 miles. Someone explain that to me please.

    • Because the “sale” is from Seattle… they don’t want to court people in the hub city 🙂 They don’t need to offer you any deals LOL
