Hyatt Awesome Winter and Spring Promotion – Double Points and More
Hyatt is out with their Winter/Spring promotion, and it doesn’t disappoint. They’re opening up the flood gates with 2x bonus points on all stays and a 1,500 point bonus per stay if you hold the World of Hyatt card. Details below.
Promotion Details
The Hyatt Promotion is quite simple, and laid out in basic terms:
- All Members: Register to earn 2X points everywhere, starting with your second qualifying stay from February 15 to May 15.
- Credit Cardmembers: World of Hyatt credit cardmembers can ALSO earn 1,500 Bonus Points with each qualifying stay, starting with the second stay, that includes a Friday, Saturday or Sunday night.
The Terms and Conditions of the Hyatt Promotion are also very straight forward. Bolding and underlining is my own:
Double Points bonus: You must be a member of World of Hyatt and register for the promotion between February 5 and March 31, 2020 to participate. To join World of Hyatt, and to register for promotion visit hyatt.com/bonusjourneys. All eligible paid stays under this promotion must occur after registration and have a checkout date between February 15 and May 15, 2020 (“Promotion Periodâ€). Beginning on your second eligible stay, you will receive double points per eligible stay at Hyatt hotels and resorts worldwide and participating M life Rewards destinations and Small Luxury Hotels of the World hotels. Maximum 100,000 Bonus Points may be earned for the Double Points bonus during Promotion Period.
Hyatt and World of Hyatt Credit Card additional bonus: Beginning on your second eligible stay during the Promotion Period, you will receive an additional 1,500 Bonus Points per eligible stay, starting with your second stay, that includes a Friday, Saturday or Sunday night during the Promotion Period. World of Hyatt will only fulfill the promotion for eligible stays completed after your registration date. Maximum 100,000 Bonus Points may be earned for the Hyatt and World of Hyatt Credit Card bonus during the promotion period.
Points to take away
First, remember that you have to register. In the past, some promotions didn’t require you to register, so make sure to do that ahead of time. The link to do so is here. Second, you are capped out at 100,000 points for the promotion, but I don’t think that’s going to be an issue for most people.
Third, and most importantly, this starts with your SECOND stay. If you have a stay coming up that is a long stay where you’d like to earn double nights. Do your own math. It might make sense for you to have a throw-a-way stay for one night, just to make sure that you get the long stay double bonus points.
For example, if you have a check in on February 17th for 10 nights, you’ll maybe want to consider a one night stay, even in your hometown, on the 15th or 16th, that way your long stay on the 17th is a double points stay.
Of course, do the math and make sure that it makes financial sense for you, but don’t miss out on those points!
World of Hyatt Credit Card
If you don’t have the World of Hyatt card, now might be a great time depending on your stay patterns. You can apply for the card here, and with a welcome bonus of 25,000 points after $3,000 in spend and another 25,000 points with your second $3,000 in spend, it sounds like a great time to snag one of the cards.
