Free Wine is Back Today!

Guess who’s back? Back again. Free wine’s back. Tell a friend.

In case you just think I’m weird (I am) and don’t understand what I’m saying (can’t say I’d blame you), it’s that wonderful time again. Starting today, free wine is back courtesy of our friends at Last Bottle Wines!

What is Last Bottle?

While I could try to put it in my own words, I think Last Bottle explains it best:

Last Bottle is a daily purveyor of fine wines. We literally offer you one hand-picked wine per day until it sells out (often in hours) and ship it out to you right away. New day, new wine. Always at incredible prices (30%-70% off retail). We’re not a wine club, there is no subscription — what you see is what you get.

They’re able to get some substantial discounts by ordering small batch wines and scooping up extra inventory. You’ll find some seriously good wines for significantly less than you’d pay at the grocery or liquor store.

The Details

Starting today at 9am PDT (12pm EDT), Last Bottle will begin their Marathon Madness sale. The sale runs today and tomorrow. During that time, Last Bottle will go through over 700 different wines ranging in price. From experience, most of these range from $20-30, but you’ll be able to find some good ones in the $10-14 range as well. We typically load up on ones in the $10-$20 range because I enjoy trying new things and most of it is good regardless of price point.

a hand holding a bottle of wineDuring the Marathon Madness sale, every purchase includes free ground shipping. There’s no minimum purchase amount either. Even if you only order one $10 bottle of wine, you’ll still get free shipping.

To make things even better, Last Bottle will be donating $1 per order to the Boys and Girls Club of Napa Valley during Marathon Madness. Last time they has over 70,000 orders, so it’s a great way to get some seriously discounted wine while helping with a great cause. Everybody wins.

Ok, but you said free wine?

Don’t worry, I didn’t forget! If you sign up using our link, you’ll get a $10 credit to use toward your first order. There’s no minimum purchase price to use the credit. It’s just a $10 credit to use as you please.

There are usually a few bottles in the $9-12 range every hour, meaning you’ll essentially get your bottle for free. Just like with award flights, you’ll still have to pay taxes, but those usually come out to less than a buck. You can thank Uncle Sam for it not being completely free.

a white background with red textOf course, no one is saying you have to buy the cheaper bottles if that’s not your thing. You’ll still get $10 off your first order regardless of purchase price. If you’d rather get a $20 bottle, it will be $10, $30 becomes $20, and so on. If you consider yourself a wine connoisseur, you can get some really phenomenal deals in the $20-30 price range.

Any tips?

Enter all your info beforehand

Speed is the name of the game when it comes to snagging those bottles that catch your eye. Some of the best deals will only last a few minutes. In order to give yourself the best chance, make sure you’ve added your address and payment information before trying to make your purchase. The first time we did this, there were too many times where we lost out on a bottle while entering credit card numbers.

To do this, go to your account and update “Payment Methods” and “Shipping Addresses” before making a purchase. Trust us, it will save you time and frustration if you just do it beforehand.

Use the app

Just do it. The Last Bottle app is incredibly straightforward and easy to use. Personally, I find the app easier to use than the website, but maybe that’s just because I’m one of those darn millennials. Plus, you’ll be able to keep an eye out for deals anywhere instead of being limited by the range of your computer.

Get your friends and family involved

Last summer, we participated in the Marathon Madness event as a family. Everyone ordered a different bottle of wine so we could each try as many different wines as possible…for free. What better way to celebrate getting vaccinated and being able to see friends again than with a free wine tasting event? Sorry, you’re on your own for the cheese and crackers though.

Have fun!

Free stuff is great, but it’s even better when you have fun doing it. Marathon Madness truly lives up to its name, with the wine on sale changing every few minutes. We had way too much fun last summer refreshing our phones and waiting for the next bottle to pop up. Our family spent hours laughing and shouting things like, “Ooh! Ooh! New Pinot for $12!”. Embrace the madness, have fun, and enjoy the excitement of snagging a bottle for a buck. Then have fun again when your wine arrives a few weeks later.

Final Thoughts

With things starting to open back up and vaccinations moving along, we’re getting closer to having things to celebrate again. What better way to do that than with free wine?

We’d be grateful if you used our referral link. You’ll get $10 off and we’ll get a referral credit as well.

Good luck and happy shopping!

  1. LOVE Last Bottle – hoping this marathon offers more European bottles than the last one. Here in MA, shipping took 2+ months to arrive from the last marathon in Dec (they obviously knew people were not happy) but can’t really complain since the $$$ saved and free shipping makes it all worth it!! Have fun indeed!!

    • Agreed! They usually have some Spanish and Italian reds, but it does tend to be more California based. Guess that’s part of how they get such good deals. As for the shipping, it’s a bit of a wait, but it’s definitely worth it!
