Where to Credit

Without a doubt, the best place to credit British Airways first class flights is to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan. These fares fall into the A fare class, meaning you’ll earn a whopping 450% of the mileage flown! The connecting flights from Inverness book into the J fare class, meaning those would still earn 350% of the mileage flown. That’s not even including any bonuses earned through elite status.

In addition, these flights will earn 250% of the mileage flown toward earning elite status with Alaska Airlines.

Using Las Vegas as an example, you can expect to earn the following:a map of the world

  • Inverness to London: 1,550 miles earned (1,107 elite qualifying miles)
  • London to Las Vegas: 23,530 miles earned (13,073 elite qualifying miles)
  • Las Vegas to London: 23,530 miles earned (13,073 elite qualifying miles)
  • London to Inverness: 1,550 miles earned (1,107 elite qualifying miles)

From just one trip, you’d earn 50,160 redeemable miles and 28,360 elite qualifying miles. The elite qualifying miles from this trip alone would earn MVP status with Alaska Airlines.

If you already hold  Alaska’s top MVP Gold 75K status, the number of redeemable miles earned balloons to an incredible 64,000 miles. A first class award ticket from the US to Asia on Cathay Pacific costs 70,000 miles, so this deal nearly has the ability to get you two first class trips for the price of one!
