Earn Double Alaska Airlines Miles on El Al
Not that long ago, Alaska Airlines added their latest partner El Al, where we will now be able to earn miles when we fly the Israeli airline and credit to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan. Yes, you guessed it, still no word on when we will be able to redeem our miles to fly on El Al, though.
Double the Miles
The good news is, as of tomorrow October 15th, that you will be able to earn double the miles whenever flying this partner and crediting to Alaska. This promotion applies to El Al’s newest route, San Francisco to Tel Aviv. Personally, I have not had the opportunity to fly El Al yet, nor have I been to Tel Aviv, but if Gilbert’s review on GSTP is any indication, it sounds like I should.
All other routes continue to earn a generous 225% at a minimum and going all the way up to 300% when flying business class. Anything below business is probably not worth much anyway, but I guess every little bit counts, especially when it’s doubled. Even in the most basic fare, you can earn at least 3712 miles.
How to Take Advantage
In order to qualify for this promotion, you will have to register by going to this website before December 15th. Dates of travel need to be within October 15, 2019 and June 30, 2020. You can check all of the T&Cs here, but here are a few takeaways:
- Only miles listed under “Base miles earned†are doubled (class of service and additional bonus miles are issued at the normal rate).
- Offer is valid only on qualifying paid flights booked in fare class I, C, Z, D, J, W, B, Q, P, M, S, Y, H, L, V, K, U, O, G and N.
- Double miles do not count toward Mileage Plan elite status.
El Al 787 Business Class
Ben from OMAAT posted a review of El Al’s 787 Business Class product, which from his pictures does not look bad at all. This is No Mas Coach, so I wouldn’t waste my time flying on their economy anyway, as it doesn’t look any better than all of the other options going to the middle east on economy.
