Emirates First Class Giveaway*

It’s no secret that flying in Emirates first class is one of the most sought after experiences in the miles and points world.  We were extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity last February to fly from Washington DC to Dubai, back when the getting was good with Alaska Airlines miles. Prices have jumped from 100,000 one-way to 150,000 to Middle East and India, 180,000 miles to Asia, and 200,000 to Africa, just...

Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve

Now, for an interesting change of pace, we decided to do a safari drive outside of Kruger Park. There are plenty of private game reserves (once again, just make sure it’s not one that allows for game hunting…) and you can do a different kind of safari if you choose the private options. Currency As it’s already become evident, the British Pound is falling like a rock. As of time of posting, it’s fallen over 12% against the US dollar. It is worth noting that this drop is on track to be the worst in history for the British Pound since...

Passengers “slapped” with delay after incident

In what is the latest episode and perhaps one of the most bizarre ones of ‘What is Aerolineas Argentinas in the news for today?’, news broke out this morning that at least 3 flights were cancelled and 10 others were delayed, although local newspapers are now reporting operations are going back to normal. The reason? A passenger who was late for his flight attempted to check-in today at 6:18am for a flight departing...

Why You Should ALWAYS Buckle Up

I always find it unbelievable rude when people pay absolutely no attention to the safety demonstration onboard a plane, although I’m guilty of that as I’ve heard it possibly a thousand times by now. It upsets me even more when they show a total disregard for those regulations that are not there just there to annoy us (like Aerolineas Argentinas’ or Vueling’s refusal to allow you to leave your phones on…)...

No Ice For You!

In a surprise move to no one, the FDA has sent Horizon Air a letter warning them that they should not be serving food or drinks with ice onboard since their employees do not have a proper sink to wash their hands, as is required of employees who handle food.  None of their over 50 Bombardier aircraft have sinks. Instead, Horizon Air (Owned by Alaska Air Group) provides a hand sanitizer in the lavatories, which according to the FDA...
