Alaska Airlines adds Finnair as its newest partner!
HOORAY! Alaska Airlines continues to grow its presence by adding another new partner to their own global network. As of today, Finnair is the newest partner in the Alaska network!
This comes on the heels of Finnair announcing their new service to and from San Francisco. Now that Alaska Airlines is expanding in the SFO market with their acquisition of Virgin America, having this new partnership will allow Finnair customers to connect all over the West Coast and allow Mileage Plan members the option to earn and redeem miles on Finnair. While Alaska members can earn on Finnair starting today, the option for them to redeem miles will come later in the year. Finnair Plus members can begin earning and redeeming points on Alaska Airlines starting today.
“We are very excited to collaborate with Alaska Airlines on this new frequent flyer partnership,” said Juha Jarvinen, chief commercial officer at Finnair. “Our customers travelling to and from the U.S. will greatly benefit from the extensive network both airlines have to offer.”
Just yesterday we were talking about the possibility of going to Helsinki, but didn’t want to fly Finnair because we couldn’t earn any miles on Alaska. Well, that has just changed, and you can be sure that it’s now on our radar. Earning 425% mileage (with our 75k bonus) is HUGE and only makes Finland even more exciting.
