Airbus Fly Your Ideas

Aircraft manufacturer Airbus announces the latest edition of their initiative, which opened its registration deadline for 2017.

In partnership with Airbus, UNESCO has announced they will once again sponsor their 5th Fly Your Ideas program to “inspire young people about innovation for sustainability and about engineering” in a worldwide competition which challenges students to further innovation in the field of aviation.

“Engineering is vital to addressing basic human needs, improving the quality of life and creating opportunities for sustainable prosperity on a local, regional, national and global level”, Flavia Schlegel, the Assistant Director-General for Natural Sciences at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), explained in their official newsletter.

These are the proposed challenges for this edition of the competition, according to their website:

The prize? The winning team will be awarded a 30,000 euro prize, and the runners up will receive a sum of 15,000 euros. Anyone involved in the competition will have the chance to work alongside Airbus experts and mentors as well as other participating students.

If like me, you have a million ideas but – unlike me- you can actually manage to put them together, test them and get them implemented, this is probably not only your chance to come up with a pretty substantial sum of money but to also improve and impact the aviation industry and move the conversation into the future. If you’re interested in applying for this opportunity, you can go to their website and fill out a form.
