10% Discount on many Alaska Airlines flights

Alaska Airlines is a quirky airline, and I think for a lot of people that’s their selling point.  They do things just a little bit differently than most, and thats ok!  It embodies the “unique” spirit of Seattle, Portland, and to an extent Los Angeles (c’mon… y’all KNOW that you’re different in LA).

One of the things that I love about Alaska Airlines is their commitment to the communities that they serve.  In scrolling around through their website in the “Things To Do” section under “Outdoor Recreation” I found information for this fare sale.  It was really well hidden, and not very well publicized, but that’s why we’re here for you, the readers!  As always, follow us on Twitter and Facebook for all the latest info…

For the rest of the summer and into the fall, Alaska Airlines will be offering up to a 10% discount on flights to a wide list of cities that will be holding marathons for the rest of the year.  The good news, if you’re like me and have never run a marathon, you don’t actually have to run in the marathon to get the discount!  If you’re like our fellow BoardingArea buddy Running With Miles, I fully expect you to take advantage of this deal.

Racecation

Alaska is marketing this as their “Ready, Set, Racecation” sale, with helpful tips on how to prepare for your race.  Each one of the races has their own link, and the best part?  You can arrive 2-3 days before the scheduled race start and leave 2-3 days after the race.  So if you’re planning on going on vacation (like we were to southern California) you might as well save some cash along the way!  We just bought some tickets to go down to Universal Studios and saved $30.  That’s almost enough for a soda and hamburger in the park!  SCORE!
