5,000 Alaska Miles for new Sign Up!
Remember the Good ‘ol days? The good ‘ol days where loyalty mattered, and a mile flown was a mile earned? Where the money you spent wasn’t the only factor in your worth to a company? I’m here to tell you the good ‘ol days still exist at Alaska Airlines. Right now new Alaska Mileage Plan members will earn 5,000 miles just for signing up and taking their first flight.
Alaska has had to innovate a lot in the past two years. Delta has planted their roots in Seattle and tried (and really failed) to sway the hearts and minds of local Seattlites. The Delta Kool-Aid hasn’t tasted that good lately, because Alaska really is a step above and beyond the competition.

From now until July 31st, if you sign up for a new ticket and make sure you take your first flight by September 30th, you’ll earn 5,000 extra miles with your first flight.
Sit tight
While Alaska advertises that “5,000 miles is enough for a one-way award ticket” I’d encourage you to hold off and save those miles for something more aspirational than a weekend trip to Boise.
They’ve got partnerships with American Airlines, Air France, Korean Air, Japan Airlines, Condor, Icelandair, and tons more. Not to mention their companion certificate on their credit card is a huge win, considering it’s for anywhere in the network that Alaska flies with zero restrictions.
If you haven’t signed up yet for Alaska, WTF are you waiting for? Get on it, it’s still in my opinion the best frequent flier program out there.
