New Starwood SPG Promotion, 5000 bonus points
Starwood just launched on Tuesday their latest promotion, a one time bonus of 5,000 SPG points. It’s for the period of October 18th to December 18th, and you’ve got to stay a total of 15 nights. This one might be a little bit hard to attain. Regardless, free points are free points, so if it works for you, then it’s an easy 5,000 points!

Registration and Earning: Members must register for this offer online with a valid SPG® account number at spg.com/5000reasons by December 18, 2016, midnight Eastern Time (ET). Card Members who have registered for this offer are eligible to receive a one-time 5,000 Starpoint bonus for fifteen (15) or more consumed, eligible stays between October 18 and December 18, 2016 (the “promotion period”).
Card Members must book and pay using any American Express® Credit or Charge Card. Bookings made prior to the promotion period are eligible for this offer, but only eligible stays consumed during the promotion period will receive a one-time bonus. Registered members may earn a maximum of 5,000 bonus Starpoints® during the promotion period with a one room max. This bonus is eligible at participating SPG properties.
Bonusing: You must first register for this offer and then book and pay for a stay using any American Express® Credit or Charge Card. Must be a member of Starwood Preferred Guest to register for offer and receive Starpoints. Enroll for free at spg.com. Bonus Starpoints will post to the registered member’s account within 2–4 weeks after the last qualifying stay posts.

So, would I go out of my way to stay at Starwood hotels for 5000 SPG (or 15,000 Marriott) points? Not really. Would it be worth shooting for if you needed to rearrange just a couple of stays? Heck yes!
