WOW! New York to London for only $299?!

So back in February we jumped on a deal for $99 one way from Boston to Paris. It was a no brainer, right? Less that $100 for a trip to Paris, sign me up! What we didn’t know when we saw the deal was that it was on Ultra ultra ultra low cost carrier, Wow Air!

Wow Airlines got a lot of press in the USA recently because they started long haul flights to the west coast from Iceland. But they still have fantastic fares form the east coast as well.

WOW At the Gate

If you’re thinking that London might be an awesome place to go in January (just like us, since we’re going!) now is the best time to snag a ticket. Flights from November through March are going for only $299 and change RT.

Yes, the flights are no frills. Yes, the flights charge for everything. But you get a carryon, and the luggage cost isn’t that much more. If you’re smart and traveling with a companion, you can probably get away with a carryon or maybe just one checked bag.

WOW Baggage Requirements

They do weigh everything, so make sure to leave those heavy laptops at home! They don’t however, weigh you. So if you’re traveling in the winter and can have some heavy stuff in your coat *wink wink* you can sneak by on a technicality!

Note that the flights depart from Newark and land in Gatwick. Anything to avoid Heathrow…

We were pleasantly surprised by Wow. The seats aren’t the best but if you get an exit row or bulkhead, it’s a win. We managed to get a good 5 hours sleep onboard and the layover in Reykjavik was great.
