Today is the Last Day to Book Emirates Awards with Alaska Airlines

Today, July 31st, is the last day Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members will be able to book flights using their miles on Emirates Airlines.

If you were looking to experience Business Class in one of the world’s top airlines, you have a few short hours left to do so.

The Divorce is Final

Since Alaska Airlines joined the OneWorld Alliance, the majority of your flights that you’ll want to take to the middle East and beyond as an Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan member will be with Qatar Airways.

If you’re curious about Qatar Airlines redemptions, we just wrote a post about that here.

Mileage Charts

Alaska does a great job of laying out the miles needed for your flights. Alaska’s official page is located here, but in general, a flight to Europe runs 105,000 miles and the Middle East will set you back upwards of 82,500 miles. Africa will be even more at 120,000, but considering the luxury (and the free stopover in Dubai) it’s worth the cost.

First Class is Gone

Unfortunately, as of a few months back, you’re not able to book Emirates’ legendary first class product including their golden coffee carafes and shower stalls.

With that said, Emirates Business Class is impressive by itself, and there are plenty of routes still available to book using your miles

What does Business Class Come With??

Business Class on Emirates is an immersive experience.

First, you get the lounge in Dubai. It’s not just a lounge, it’s LITERALLY an entire floor in the airport. There are dozens of restaurants, bars, cafes, and even your own duty free lounge just for business class passengers

Next, you get the bar. If you’re lucky enough to snag an A380 on your flight, you can experience the bar at the back of the plane. Mix and mingle with crew and passengers alike and have a handcrafted cocktail. You can even get them to take a photo for you as a souvenir.

When you book with Alaska Airlines, you can have a stopover in Dubai for as long as you like. We often do this in order to get a few days of opulence and luxury in the UAE.

So, with that said, stop reading, head over to Alaska Airlines website and get to booking your last chance at Emirates.

Oh, before I forget make sure that your plans are fixed. After today, you will NOT be able to make any changes to your flights, as the Alaska Airlines reps will not be able to make any adjustments. They’ll have to reaccomdate you on a OneWorld airline, and if there’s no availability, you’re out of luck.
