Hyatt Place Boise, Hotel Review
Now that we live on the West Coast, taking quick trips on Alaska Airlines is an easy option for a weekend get away. While getting airline tickets is easy, one of the more expensive parts are the hotel stays. The Hyatt Place in downtown Boise is not only perfectly located for exploring the city, depending on how you play it, you can stay here for next to nothing.
Boise airport is located just a few minutes drive (or cheap uber) from the downtown, so getting into downtown is a breeze. We rented a car for around $30 a day, and the parking at the hotel is not free, so we were expecting to pay a little more. I mentioned that I was a World of Hyatt member (mind you, NO elite status) and she said that she would waive it for my loyalty. Nice touch, especially considering you’re downtown and parking can be a pain.
The check in process was a breeze and I eared up to the room. The rooms are like mini suites (without kitchenettes). While compact, the bedroom had enough space and the bed was beyond comfortable.
A small dresser and closet off to one side of the room and a TV complete the sleeping area.
If you’re looking for some room to stretch out or you’ve got someone else traveling with you, the sofa does turn into a bed.
The bathroom is huge for the space.
What I liked most about the room was that it was clean. Impeccably clean. Most hotels are sometimes a little bit dirty or even disheveled, but I couldn’t find a speck of dust in the place. Nice work, housekeeping!
How to Book
The rooms at the hotel can get pricey as downtown is the place to be. When we looked the rates were $199/night (plus tax). It would have been around $240 a night and we were there for two nights.
While escaping to Boise is fun, paying $500 for a weekend isn’t. This hotel is a category 2 hotel which means that for only 8,000 points a night you can sleep in the hotel! $0 in taxes and fees, totally free weekend.
Since Hyatt is a transfer partner with Chase, you can move your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt. 16,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points sent to World of Hyatt gets you 2 nights at the property. There are a ton of properties that fit into that category 1 level, so taking weekend trips are a breeze.
If you’re heading to Boise, the Hyatt Place needs to be on your list.

No blackout curtains? The picture looks like no dice but I’m hoping I’m mistaken. Any review to come about the city?

I’m a Hilton guy (with Lifetime Diamond) but your write-up of this place makes it seem very inviting, to the point I would likely pop for this place in lieu of searching for Hilton. Thanks for the review,
Mickey
