Uber Comfort debuts Pop Up in Chicago O’Hare

Uber is looking to make the holiday travel experience just a little bit smoother in one of that nation’s most hectic airports, Chicago O’Hare. Just between Terminal 2 and 3 they’ve debuted a new pop-up concept called Uber Comfort.

The goal is to give you a little respite from the hustle and bustle of the holiday masses and get you on your way in comfort!

Uber Comfort as a Service

Back in June, Uber launched a new way to ride in select cities called Uber Comfort. The concept is simple:

• Newer, Mid-Size Cars: Arrive in comfort with a car that meets consistent vehicle make and model standards.
• Extra Legroom: Uber Comfort rides will have minimum legroom requirements so you can stretch out and have the space you need.
• Rider Preferences: You can request your ideal temperature in advance and let your drivers know when you’re looking for a quiet ride so you can stay comfortable on the road.

Since their original launch in June, they’ve expanded to several dozen cities. Chances are yours is in the list below:

Uber Comfort is now available in Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Charleston, Charlotte, Chicago, Connecticut, Dallas, Fresno, Hampton Roads, Houston, Honolulu, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Madison, Memphis, Milwaukee, Nashville, New Jersey, New Orleans, Omaha, Orange County, Ottawa, Palm Springs, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Portland, Raleigh-Durham, Rhode Island, Richmond, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Tucson, Wichita, and Washington D.C.

*UPDATE 8/13* Uber Comfort has expanded to Albuquerque, Ann Arbor, Baton Rouge, Detroit, Calgary, Central Atlantic Coast, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Colorado Springs, Columbia, Columbus, Denver, Fort Collins, Fort Myers-Naples, Grand Rapids, Hamilton, Inland Empire, Jacksonville, Kitchener-Waterloo, Lehigh Valley, Lexington, London (Ontario), Louisville, Maui, Miami, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Montreal, Oklahoma City, Orlando, Piedmont Triad, Rockies, Sarasota, Santa Barbara, Savannah-Hilton Head, Tallahassee, Toronto, Tulsa, Ventura, Western Massachusetts, and Worcester.

Uber Comfort, the Pop-Up

There are two representatives just outside of the entrance who will give you a coupon upon entrance. Once you enter, you’re greeted by two lovely attendants who will walk you through the experience.

Your entry card gives you a coupon for a free drink and comfort kit. The drinks include Coke products, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. 

The comfort kit includes some ear plugs, and eye mask, and plush socks with non-slip bottoms. I tried them – they’re REALLY comfy.

It’s a great free perk that Uber is offering for those Chicago travelers. If you’re heading through and you have some time to kill, go say hello, take a moment to chill out, or make a new friend.

The Uber Comfort pop up will be open every day from 730am to 630pm until the new year.
