Black Friday Travel Deals from Amazon and Best Buy
It’s that time of the year! Retailers pull out all the stops and host some amazing Black Friday sales to get your hard earned money. The greatest part of the Black Friday sales for me is finding the best travel gear and gadgets to make our lives that much easier while we’re on the road. The two stores that we frequent are Best Buy and Amazon, considering they seem to always have the best deals on the gear we need.
Here’s a round up of some of the best Black Friday deals that we found from both of the stores and when you’re able to buy.
Best Buy Deals
Microsoft Surface Pro 7 – $599
Having a laptop and tablet that’s both light and flexible is essential when we’re on the road. It’s a true laptop so you’ve got a keyboard, USB slots, and a SD slot for your camera as well. Priced at $599 it’s a steal. If you’re a Best Buy Elite member you can get this deal today, otherwise, Black Friday deals start Thursday online.
Canon Rebel T7i and Lens Kit – $699
Sure, telephone cameras have come a LONG way, but when you’re looking for that perfect shot while on safari or ridiculous zoom to see those far away sights, a Digital SLR camera can’t be beat. We’ve had the Canon series and just upgraded our T3i to a T7i and couldn’t be happier. This kit comes with two lenses, the body, a bag, and more. It’s a steal. Alternatively, if you want something a little less expensive, look into the Canon Rebel T6. That package is available at only $399 and is still a powerful addition to your repertoire.
MacBook and iMac, up to $300 off
I’ve had a MacBook for almost a decade now, and I their ease of use and compatibility across all apple platforms is fantastic. Best Buy is an autohorized Apple reseller, so getting the latest Apple gear at a huge discount is a win, any time of the year.
Bose Quiet Comfort QC 35 Wireless Headphones – $279
It seems that every year, Bose discounts their wired headphones and the wireless headphones are left alone without a sale. Never fear, this year the headphones that have ALWAYS been $349 are being discounted to $279. I won’t miss this opportunity to snag a pair for Ben for Christmas (shh don’t tell him).
Ring Doorbell (and Chime) $129/$179
We travel quite a bit, so safety and security while we’re not at home is paramount. The ring camera allows us to see who’s at our front door and who’s stopping by. It’s a fantastic deterrent for package thieves and also allows you full visibility into who’s galavanting around your front porch.
Larger storage is getting cheaper and smaller every year. Snagging a couple of these MicroSD cards for your digital camera or cell phone is essential, and for less than $20, there’s no excuse not to buy a couple extra.
Sonicare Toothbrush 4100 – $29.99
This might seem like an odd addition to the list, but we’ve had our Sonicare toothbrushes now for years. We don’t like wasting resources, so all those disposable toothbrushes that we get in hotels while convenient, don’t do much for the environment. The Sonicare series is easy to travel with and for only $30 a steal. The charge lasts us for even our longest trips (at least 10-12 days) and is a heck of a lot better than the flimsy ones you get from the front desk of the Holiday Inn Express
Amazon Deals
AirPods with Charging Case – $139
Wires suck, and apple knows that. The AirPods have been brought down to $139 for Black Friday, and are a easy to transport and charge. The only downside? They’re easy to lose 🙂 Maybe buy an extra pair just in case?
Blink Outdoor/Indoor Camera set (Available Nov 27) – $184.99
Again, harping back on safety and security, the Blink Outdoor/Indoor camera set allows you to feel comfortable knowing that you’ve got home security with a durable unit that can go both in our to of your house. They’re all weather, so no worries about the snow, rain or cold.
Anker Travel Charger, $26 or less
You don’t want to be without power, do you? You also don’t want to be carrying around endless plugs and cords looking for the next outlet. Once you do find that outlet, you realize you’re in a foreign country and you need an adapter. Screw it, go for the power bank from Anker and you won’t be without a charge. At such a low price, this is something that you should absolutely always have with you in your backpack or laptop bag.
Amazon Smart Plug – $4.99 (when bundled)
I. Love. This. The Amazon Smart plug turns any “dumb” plug into a smart plug powered by Alexa. You can remotely control things such as lights, small appliances, and more. Just simply put the smart plug into any standard wall outlet and it’ll connect to your Alexa home system. Now, you have the ability to turn things on and off via the app or your voice. Game changer.

I love you guys and rarely leave a comment. Great information. The reason for the comment is that I have the Amazon smart plug and want to buy a bunch more. The $4.99 bundled deal is what I’ve been waiting for but when I click on the link it shows the regular price (around $25). I can’t figure out or find the instructions as to what needs to be done to meet the bundling requirements. Thanks again for all the great tips. Can’t wait for our Emirates MEL-DXB-IAD trip in F in Jan 2020!.

Hi so I have an Echo Dot already (can’t remember if it’s a Gen 1 or Gen 2, but it’s def not a Gen 3). But what do you mean when the Smart Plug is $4.99 when bundled?

I pulled that straight from the Amazon Advertisement. I’m going to assume it’s when you buy it with something else, not just a standalone.
