Hotel Review: Sheraton Suites O’Hare Airport
Airport hotels are plentiful at O’Hare so sometimes it makes it hard to decide on one in particular. No matter if you prefer Hyatt, IHG, Marriott or Club Carlson you’ll have plenty of options. The Sheraton Suites O’Hare ticks all the boxes for me and is a perfectly acceptable stay for a short overnight near the airport.
Arrival
The check in process was smooth and quick, but it was simply by luck. About 2 minutes after I arrived a huge swarm of people arrived in the airport shuttle and the line ended up being about 10 people deep. Three to four of them didn’t speak any English and the check in process was going to be painful. As there are only two desks for check in it could get to be a very lengthy process.

The hotel has a huge multi-story atrium that surrounds the restaurant and bar. Here is where they serve breakfast in the morning, so if you’re looking to use your free breakfast option, that’s where you’ll go!

Upgraded room
I was informed upon check in that we had secured an upgrade to a corner suite. Once you enter the room there’s a seating area with a large couch, ottoman, and television. There’s also a small work desk off to the side.

As you head from the living space to the there’s a small safe in what looks like used to be a closet.

The bathroom is right in the middle of the living space and the bedroom. Sheraton standard. The shower, however, was a strange sliding door configuration and leaked when you used it.

The actual bedroom itself was spacious and well appointed. There’s a big comfy bed, chair, and a large TV/dresser.

Just off to one side in the bedroom was the actual closet.

So, here’s my problem with the Sheraton Club and a lot of clubs in general. It sucks. It sucked so much that I didn’t even bother taking any pictures. The food options that were supposed to be presented were 30 minutes late, the coffee machine was broken, and there wasn’t even anyone manning the desk inside.

After about 15 minutes of waiting for someone to come after I phoned the front desk, I gave up and left. As I was leaving the food arrived. Cold spicy chicken wings and jalapeno poppers. Meh. Big meh.
How we booked it
While this hotel is only a category 4 the prices outweighed using points. On the night that we were there, it was only $84 a night, and for that price, I’ll save my points.
Impressions?
This Sheraton Suites hotel has everything that we need. Cheap, Clean, Easy to get to and upgraded rooms seem to be plentiful. The rates don’t ever seem to be too expensive over the entire schedule so finding a good deal should be easy. Don’t expect a hotel that is memorable to a point that you’ll tell your grandkids about it someday, but do expect something easy to get to and very utilitarian.

I stayed here over the July 4th weekend when my last connecting flight home was cancelled and I had to overnight by ORD at the last minute. I made it from PHL to LAX to HKG to ORD without any problems and then AA couldn’t manage those last 700 or so miles…sigh.
Anyway, I had a similar impression of this hotel. Perfectly adequate for the purpose but nothing to write home about. And my room looked almost identical to yours.
I was also underwhelmed by the evening offerings in the club, but I did like the breakfast. They actually had freshly-made breakfast sandwiches that were pretty tasty.
