Have grill? Can’t travel!
One of my most favorite guilty pleasures has been following FakeSkyMiles and Fake Oscar UnitedCEO on twitter. But one of my most recent ones has definitely become even funnier than the fake accounts and the best thing is, this one is not a parody!

Enter @AskTSA on Twitter. The account aims at helping people sort out the sometimes puzzling reality of going through security screenings, from the ‘can I bring my Glock into the plane?’ to the ‘is baby food allowed in the cabin?’. I do have to applaud the TSA for joining us in the 21st century and get on social media to help people out. For a government agency that deals with tons of paperwork and thousands of employees who aren’t the best at customer service (or spotting any real safety concern either) this is an important avenue to address the people.
As usual, when you give these kind of resources to people, you can expect it to result in hilarious outcomes. Mainly because people who resort to asking the questions are somewhat your 76 year old aunt Muriel from Lizard Lick, NC (yup, I also can’t believe that’s an actual place) who happens to travel once every 5 years, but also, sometimes people have the most random questions ever.

Apparently, one is supposed to remove the grill and place it on the bin to go through the scanner I guess? In my mind this sounds unbelievably disgusting, since those bins are laden with fecal matter and other fun stuff. I know, I suppose you can put them in your grill carrying case…

Two weeks ago flying home from Denmark TSA at Newark actually found a butter knife at the bottom of my backpack that security in Kastrup failed to find. I was actually quite impressed.
