Tickets go on Sale Today for Alaska Airlines to Mexico City!
Back in March, the DOT gave Alaska Airlines some pretty hard to snag slots at Mexico City’s Benito Juarez Airport, but there was no time frame for flights or for when they go on sale. That time has now come, and we’ve learned that Alaska Airlines will start serving the Mexican capital from San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego.
Start planning! Mexico City flights on sale now. LAX & SFO start August 8. SAN starts Nov 6. https://t.co/yOTMfIO5zU *Pending gov. approval pic.twitter.com/3oIaqnMFTj

Flights will begin from LAX and SFO on August the 9th, and San Diego won’t start flying until November 6. The flights will be operated by the new 737-900 with the premium seating options included. Out of San Diego they’ll be operated with the E175 aircraft.
According to Alaska, The year-round nonstop service will operate once daily between Mexico City and San Francisco, once daily between Mexico City and San Diego and twice daily between Mexico City and Los Angeles.
We just booked ourselves on the inaugural flight out of LAX and then back to Seattle. Of course, we’re booked into First Class, so if you;d like to come hang out with us, then book your tickets now! We used our Upgrades to snag first class for $200 each way 🙂 $400 for a first class round trip ticket, sign me up! If you’ve got upgrades or you have elite status with the airline, the schedule is WIDE open
This will be a nice boost for Alaska’s partnership with Aeromexico, as they offer dozens and dozens of connections out of Mexico City from which to connect.
Earlier in the year we took the inaugural flight from Los Angeles to Havana, and it was a total party. There were parties on the plane, parties at the gate, parties when we landed… Alaska Airlines really did it right, and I can imagine that this won’t be any exception.
