Insane 787 Acrobatics

We all know how awesome the Boeing 787 Dreamliner is. But did you know it could do these crazy tricks?

In a video released by Boeing on their social media accounts we can see what their pilots are practicing for the 2016 Farnborough Airshow. Some of the moves, in particular the touch and go are apparently not allowed on the show anymore, as it was banned by British aviation authority. So this video is our only opportunity to see them:

The video, which starts with an almost fully vertical take off, was shot over Moses Lake, Washington. The engines are powerful enough to lift a fully loaded 270 tons aircraft, so I assume a vertical take off wouldn’t be too hard for those engines when the plane is completely empty.

We had the pleasure of flying on a Dreamliner a few times and have experienced how awesome they are on the inside on our own (minus the vertical take offs, touch and goes and dizzying maneuvers!). We also toured the Boeing plant in Everett where they’re produced and, if you’re ever in the Seattle area, you shouldn’t miss the chance to go see that yourself as it is truly unique.

The Farnborough Airshow runs July 11th to 17th in Farnborough, England and tickets to the public are still available.

Is anyone planning on going?
