Hotel Review: Aloft Beaverton Hillsboro

The Portland area has a few SPG options, including the Nines hotel, which is one of the most gorgeous hotels I’ve stayed at. The downside to the Nines hotel is that it’s pretty pricey at times. Luckily, the Aloft hotel in Beaverton and Hillsboro was recently opened and still had rates of $104/night. As we were just driving through down and not making this our home base for exploration, the hotel was perfect.

Hip and cool Lobby

One of the best features of Aloft hotels are their really awesome public spaces. Alofts are a concept from the W hotels so you would assume that they will still bring that young millennial vibe. This hotel doesn’t disappoint.

It’s really bright and open with plenty of places to hang out. They’ve got games including corn hole and pool…

With an awesome bar with plenty of drink options. They feature a variety of Oregon wines and liqueurs, which I can appreciate. I always like trying new food and drink when we go to new places.

There is also an extensive cafe and snack section. Pretty much anything you could want is there, and the prices were not too bad! The presentation is absolutely gorgeous 🙂

Working on your fitness!

Want to make sure that you get a good workout in while you’re on the road? The Aloft has you covered. There is a sweet pool and state of the art gym to tempt you. It’s on the basement level, at the same level with the parking deck.

Breakfast

As a platinum member we got breakfast for free! The cool part about Aloft is that it’s a sort of made to order deal. You can make yourself a breakfast sandwich, a side (tutor tots in this case), a pastry and a gourmet coffee (latte, etc). The breakfast was worth $12 per person, more than enough to fill up!

The Rooms

You go to a hotel for the rooms, right? So how do these rooms add up? We’ve reviews plenty of Aloft hotels before, so the rooms are pretty much the same. This one does have one thing a little different though… our room has TWO king beds! Not double beds… but king beds. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before!

Location and Price

The hotel is just a mile from the Nike HQ and a short 7 minutes from the downtown restaurants and shops. Rates are usually pretty low, as we got in for only $104 on a AAA rate.

I’m starting to really like Aloft hotels. They’re a good mix of cool and comfortable. If you’re heading through Beaverton, give the Aloft a shot!

  1. Just stayed at the aloft Cupertino. Quite literally on the Apple campus. Was there for a funeral and rates were literally over $400 a night so points were amazing.

That said I was a bit disappointed with the room. The bathroom door didn’t really close which made some awkward moments with my sister.

For a hipster hotel there were no usb outlets.

There was a nice sofa to sit on but I couldn’t set a glass of wine down anywhere near the sofa.

It seemed to me from didn’t really follow function. Just my two cents

    • Dang, you would think for a Cupertino hotel they would have these things. Did you let them know?

  2. 7 minutes if you have a personal jet pack…maybe an hour at rush hour….looks nice enough but this is not convenient to downtown.
