British Airways offers a Companion Sale
British Airways is one of my favorite airlines to fly and earn miles. They often run sales on business class tickets or offer other options to head to Europe. and they’ve got one of the largest route networks in the USA for a foreign carrier. It’s safe to say that British Airways probably serves your hub city if you leave near a major US metro.
They also offer some pretty fun sales. Last year there was a “$2,016 sale for the upcoming 2016 year!” and business class tickets were going for, you guessed it, $2,016. Now, they’re trying a new approach in their “coach companion sale”
According to their page:
Travel with a companion & save
With a strong US dollar, and our sale, now is a great time to book your European adventure. Simply book round-trip economy flights on British Airways or American Airlines to Europe, by September 28. Be sure to enter “2 adults” in the passenger box at time of booking for the lowest sale price.
Or, book a vacation package that includes air (British Airways flights only) and hotel in one low price. With incredible deals to London and all of the top cities in Europe, the only hard part is choosing where to go.
The deals look pretty good, especially if you’re traveling somewhere with a friend or a +1. From what I can see, nothing special like a code needs to be entered, so this should stack with the AARP discount and also the special Chase discount as well that’s available to cardholders of the British Airways Visa Card.

Always that I try to use AA miles to book them the fees are almost as expensive as flight with another carrier….

Oh, I agree. The fuel surcharges are ridiculous. Sometimes it seems like they can be more than the flight just paying cash! But those paid fares are great, and crediting them to AA or AS is a good option.
