Alaska Airlines Giving away 40,000 Free Flights
It’s no secret that the Alaska Airlines / Virgin America Merger is well underway. It’s also no secret that some of the die hard fans of Virgin aren’t happy about it one bit. So what can they do to win some of those customers? Free flights of course!
Alaska is going to be making a ton of improvements to their hard product over the next year and a half including new first class seats, better food and entertainment options, and even new lounges, all in an attempt to woo customers over to the “new” Alaska.
40,000 Free Flights
Taking that even one step further, Alaska Airlines is getting into the baseball spirit in San Francisco in September. In fact, on September 17th, for the first 40,000 people who attend the Giants vs Diamondbacks game will receive a 2-for-1 ticket, also known as the famous Alaska Airlines Companion Pass.
Don’t live in San Fran? We don’t either! But currently flights from Seattle to San Francisco for that day are only $64 each way. Tickets to the game start at $35 for the cheap seats, so for around $160 we’re gonna get a buy-one-get-one ticket! We’ve got plans to head to Honolulu (flights currently are around $600) so that’s a massive savings for us.

While Alaska does have quite the hill to climb with their new base of customers, especially those based in the Bay Area, promotions like this one should keep them coming back for more.
