Southwest Airlines Sale for Thanksgiving Travel

Thanksgiving can be one of the most stressful times to travel, and one of the most costly. Our family got rid of the Thanksgiving tradition years ago, instead opting for “Thanksmas,” an invented holiday the 2nd weekend in December. Mostly because flights are cheap, but all the families can get together. Southwest is trying to make that a little bit easier this year and is having a Thanksgiving Sale. It’s running for the next few days, so don’t delay in booking.

Tons of fares are available for under $100 each way, and since Southwest covers most of the United States, chances are that you’re going to find a great deal!

Just last week I was looking at what it would cost to get back to Michigan to see the family and fares were running in the neighborhood of $500 each to get there for Thanksgiving. Not exactly the most friendly of airfares. I just looked with this sale and the price dropped down to $370. Not bad for Michigan Thanksgiving standards!

How to book

You’ve got to book by September 24th to score the deals, so have the chat with grandma and grandpa and figure out the dates. As always, the flights are subject to availability. Don’t be “that guy” who waits until the last minute thinking that its going get cheaper as the dates get closer. Trust us, it ISN’T going to get any cheaper. Just go ahead and do it now!

Terms and Conditions are plentiful, but the basics are:

  • Purchase from September 22 through September 24, 2017, 11:59 p.m. in the respective time zone of the originating city.
  • Domestic travel valid November 17 through November 28, 2017.
  • For some reason, fares not available to/from Albany, NY, Norfolk, VA, Portland, ME, Rochester, NY and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

It’s not easily seen on their main page, but you can access the sale here.

Happy Travels!
