Miles and Points – Beginner’s 101 – Intro

Hello and a great big welcome to all the new readers to the blog (and some of you who’ve been here before).  Both Ben and I want to take a moment to thank you for landing here.  You’re here either because you’re wanting to learn more about how to travel around the world for free or cheap, or you’re interested in earning miles and points.  Maybe you’re new in the mix and have a lot of questions about how to earn points, maybe you’re seasoned and looking for a new tip or trick, or maybe you’re just here because you like reading about all our exploits and travels all around the world.  Whatever your reason, we thank you 🙂

Over the next several weeks we’ll be posting a series titled “Miles and Points – Beginner’s 101”.  We know that a majority of readers are new to the points and travel world, and it’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of a first class cabin or $10 business class ticket to Dubai, but if you’re using the wrong credit card, or you haven’t even signed up yet for the right frequent flier account, you’re already one step behind.  All through the month of September and October, we’ll be covering:

  • Choosing the BEST program for you
  • Understanding how to accumulate miles and points
  • How to take advantage of travel partners
  • Credit card extra benefits
  • The importance of status/elite benefits
  • Basics of searching for deals, and more…

These posts should run through the month of September, and we invite questions, comments, concerns, and criticisms.  Please make sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter to get the latest updates when we post, and subscribe to our blog for all the newest posts.

Thanks again for reading, and come back tomorrow for post 1!
