Mileage Run Opportunities with Alaska Airlines in April

Alaska Airlines is the only airline in the USA that still awards you one mile for every mile flown. Because of that, there are plenty of mileage run opportunities that still exist. Mileage runs, for those who aren’t aware, are airline tickets that you buy with the sole intent of flying to earn miles.

April has presented some pretty amazing opportunities on Alaska Airlines, especially out of the new Paine Field Terminal in Everett, Washington.

Double Miles

From now until April 30th, you can earn double miles on every route out of Paine Field. That means that a quick trip to Portland and back with earn you 1,000 qualifying miles and 2,000 redeemable miles.

There are about a dozen or so routes currently flying out of Paine Field including some of Alaska’s most popular west coast destinations. Portland, Las Vegas, San Diego, and Phoenix all made the cut. All the flights are being operated by Horizon Air’s E75 aircraft with 12 first class seats, 12 premium economy seats, and a few dozen more regular seats. The planes are new and extremely comfortable.

  1. “Each trip earns 2,000 miles and for $56”

2.8 cents spent per mile and you have to keep flying to Portland?

This is a steal if you need to go there; it’s kind of weird otherwise.

    • I suppose it depends on what you have for time. For some people who can’t take a full day away from work will love a 35 minute flight to Portland. Check out San Diego at $59 each way and you’ve got an even better deal.
