Chicago O’Hare Airport offers Flu Shots!

Welcome to Fall and Winter! It’s that time…and you know that you haven’t had your flu shot yet. You get sick and tired (literally) about seeing all the advertisements at pharmacies and even grocery stores. “Come get your flu shot today! Only $25, most major insurances accepted!” The problem is, as always, time. We lead busy lives and it can be difficult, so I love what’s going on right now at O’Hare Airport.

The University of Illinois Hospital (UI Health) is once again offering both travelers and airport employees the chance to get your flu shot this year. You can visit the UIC Medical Clinic from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends and holidays. The Medical Clinic is located past security checkpoints in Terminal 2, across from gate F3 and you don’t need an appointment.

Walk up Flu Shots!

If you’re in need of a full-on urgent care medical center, you can do that as well. They offer walk in medical services for all people using the airport.

The UIC Medical Clinic will also staff kiosks, also past security checkpoints, in Terminal 1, in the B Concourse and in Terminal 3 near the H/K Concourse.

Most Insurance Accepted!

The cost is $35 per shot, but if you’ve got Medicare or insurance, chances are you’ll be paying $0. According to the woman we spoke to at the kiosk, it only takes 3-4 minutes and you’re on your way! They are seeing at times upwards of 15-20 people/hour, so it’s working out well! I haven’t seen this in any other airports. Nothing would make me happier than to see all these sick people disappear from the airports. Planes are already mini Petri dishes right now.

And hey, do yourself and all of your friends a favor and get a damn flu shot! Have you had your flu shot yet?

  1. It’s about to be flu season and you don’t want a cold ing to interfere with your travel plans.  There’re few things in life worse than the pain from an earache when the cabin pressurizes.
