BREAKING NEWS: Is Pan-Am Relaunching?!

Pan American World Airways, aka Pan Am, was the largest carrier in the United States until its demise in December 1991.

Many people think Pan Am relates back to a better time when flying used to be prestigious and cherished experience.  So much so in fact that in Los Angeles they’ve created a “Pan Am Experience” where you can relive the best of Pan Am.  A glamorous, exciting time in flying’s golden age, that has since been replaced by screaming kids, long TSA lines, packaged peanuts, and grim stares from well-weathered flight attendants.  We did the experience back last year, and it was EPIC.

Pan Am still exists today, by selling a very diverse line of bags, passport cases, clothing, and accessories, all helping us remember the awesome brand that is no more…

Ben was just strolling around the Internet today and stumbled across Pan Am’s website… Well, in what I hope is a sign of things to come, if you head over to the website today, you’ll see something very interesting.

WHAT?  SERIOUSLY?  NO …  This would be amazing.  Pan Am resurgence?!  It looks like they’ll be offering concierge services, business travel, empty legs (private jets!?), and more!  I called the number listed and prodded for some more information.  It looks like they’ll be launching in a few months, starting from the Midwest/Mountain area and then heading to the coasts.  They want to start with smaller jets and expand service into jets that can seat 20, 30, and even up to 100 people.  I tried to get a little bit more, but he said that we’ll just have to wait until later in the fall when they get over their “soft” launch.  DRATS!

I, for one, could not be more excited to see what this means.  The only tag line is “Coming This Fall” and “Booking Options Coming Soon,” so we’ll have to wait and see what this means.  Stay tuned to NoMasCoach via twitter and facebook, and when we know more we’ll update you.

What do you think?  Would you be willing to fly Pan Am (again) when they relaunch?

  1. Im the Admin of the Pan American World Airways group on Facebook and from what I understand these are people that are just “riding the coach”. Pan Am came to its’ demise in 1991 and I don’t think anyone can match to what was…it has been tried so many times…but that generation is gone…Good luck to them.

    • I’d love to fly Pan Am again. It was such of part of my life. IF it’s really Pan American but I’m afraid I agree with Orit, I’m not sure that the experience can be brought back to life. Let’s just wait and see what happens.

      • Can you teach the modern air traveller to part with their ubiquitous beachwear, in favor of dressing up to fly a first class product?

  8. Airlines named Pan Am have flown twice since bankruptcy. And at least three never made it to the air. None of them would provide the service that was the mark of the original.

  9. It will never fly. Most passengers want cheap cheap cheap and are willing to do without luxuries. Those who want more either pay First Class or fly private jets

  10. O yes. Original Pan American was great. But you need lots of money, have a plan to survive many months or longer of financial loss, etc. Only today, someone super wealthy, aka Arab Prince, Tech. Billionaire, U.A.E. Dreamer…could start a large operation today. And today is 2019 ! Have the best, smartest, nicest . Regrettably the age of civility is gone. Flying on United, American, Jet Blue, Delta is similar to entering a Walmart. Where is pilots, flight attendants, management are the Walmart employees. No class today even from the biggest. “Ship of Dreams”…maybe one day !
