The catering is BAD on Alaska Airlines, and they know it.

As a 75k gold member on Alaska Airlines, we fly a lot. Last year we flew over 95k miles on Alaska Airlines flights alone, and in total around 120,000 including partners. Because of their generous (often free) upgrades, we got bumped up to first class about 85% of the time. While I enjoy the comfortable seat, drinks, entertainment player, and attentive service, the one area where they could use some serious help from Virgin America...

Radisson Executive Lounge, Kathmandu Airport, Review

Priority Pass has access to some very unique and interesting experiences, but one of the stranger actual airport lounges is that Radisson Hotel Executive Lounge in the Kathmandu Airport. While there is a Radisson in town, this is the first time that I’ve seen a hotel sponsor an executive lounge. Even though this was a Priority Pass lounge, we were granted access by virtue of flying on Royal Nepal’s Shangri-La Class, and...

The Not So Secret way to Alaska Airlines First Class upgrades

Ever walk onto a plane and see all those people sitting in the first few rows of the airplane, sipping a pre departure drink, not burdened by uncomfortable seat cushions and wonder “How the hell did they get up here?” I know you have, because I hear it all the time when people walk by us to coach… “Hey Larry! Hey Larry! Look at these big comfy seats! Are these ours?”  No Susan, you’re back in...

440,000 Points in Limited Time Offers going away Soon!

It’s no secret that we love miles and points. I mean, there is no way that we would be able to afford going on all these fancy first class trips and 5 star luxury hotels if it weren’t for the glorious world of miles and points. When people who know us (or meet us for the first time) ask about what we do, the first question is “How do you get so much time off of work!” That’s easy, we’re very...

Nepal Airlines Review, Flight from KTM-DEL

There are three airlines that fly between Kathmandu and Delhi, one of which is Nepal Airlines. Some other day we could probably find a flight on Jet Airways and Air India, but having the opportunity to fly on Nepal’s flag carrier seemed like an opportunity we didn’t want to miss! Nepal Airlines only operates with a fleet of 10 aircraft, only two of which are A320’s which they use on international routes between Hong Kong, Delhi,...

London Air Traffic Control to move 80 miles away from Airport

When you fly into an airport, pretty much any airport in the world, you’ll see the control tower. Inside is, you guessed it, Air Traffic Control! But just outside of London’s downtown lies LCY, or London City airport. It was opened just over 30 years ago and handles about 4.5 million passengers each year, the majority looking for stress free access to London and the financial district. The control tower at London City is...

Uh Oh! Your hotel lost power. Now what?

Imagine that you get to your destination, check in, freshen up, and you’re lounging around your hotel room in your pajamas, relaxing before bed. All of a sudden the lights go out and power has been cut to the entire hotel. The phones don’t work and the light on your cell phone is your only way to find the exit. Welcome to our Salt Lake City experience. As we wrote about a short while back, the hotel that we chose to spend the first...

How we used Credit Cards to get One Free Month at a Beach Resort!

Credit Cards are probably the easiest way to earn points and miles in a hurry. Usually, you can earn 1 mile or point per $1 spent, but a lot of the cards give you 2, 3, 4, 5, even 12x the points per dollar earned. It may sound crazy, but there are ways to stay completely free, for up to a MONTH, at a 5 star beach resort, and not pay a dime. Whether you can get a full month off from your job is another story, but even if you just use...

ITC Mughal Kaya Kalp Spa Review

The ITC Mughal Kaya Kalp Spa is just another addition to the long list of reasons to stay at this hotel when you’re in Agra. After a dirty and dusty day of exploring the area, coming back to this peaceful retreat is truly an indulgence. We were staying just one night at the resort, and you can read about our room here. Regardless, we wanted to make sure to check out the area and get an idea of what they offer. The hallways leading up...
