Aer Lingus to start Seattle Dublin Route!

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (or Seatac for short) has been expanding ‘bigly’ in 2017, and 2018 is no exception! The market has grown recently to include Condor flights, Hainan, Xiamen, Aeromexico, Volaris, Norwegian Air, and a little airline called Delta has been expanding too. Now, add Aer Lingus to that list. Starting on May 18, 2018, Dublin to Seattle will be served by Aer Lingus!

In an official statement on the Aer Lingus homepage:

This coming May we’re set to launch Ireland’s first direct service between Dublin and Seattle. Fondly known as The Emerald City, Seattle sits pretty between Puget Sound and Lake Washington on the Pacific Northwest. Home to must-visit sights like the Space Needle, Pike Place Market and the Museum of Pop Culture, Seattle is a superb city just waiting to be explored.

Flights will operate 4x weekly with the following schedule:

Dublin-Seattle
Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday
3:50 PM – 5:35 PM

Seattle-Dublin
Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday
7:20 PM – 12:35 PM+1

Flight are operated with an Airbus A330, and while we haven’t flown them yet, our friend Chris McGinnis over at Travel Skills has. He’s got an awesome review of the economy class cabin and also one on their new business class cabin as well. Go over there and check those out for a good read.

Pricing

The new flights don’t seem to currently be on any promo as fares are starting at around $429 each way for around $850+ round trip. If you’ve got miles lying around, don’t forget that you can use both United miles and British Airways Avios on this route. You’ll avoid fuel surcharges by using both instead of flying British Airways (and actually get a decent business class product!).

Inaugural?!

We’re going to be in Europe the week before for the Frequent Traveler University (Coming to London in May!) so I’m trying to see if I can finagle my way onto that Inaugural flight. Stay tuned to see if we can manage to snag a seat!

Are you excited about this new Seattle route?
